Awesome results at First Regatta for 2024/2025 Season

Mollymook Outriggers sent four teams to the first regatta of the 24/25 season hosted by Pacific Dragons at La Perouse.  The day kicked off with the OC1/OC2 event, and our club was represented by Lydia Ronnenkamp.  In her first hit out, on her new canoe, Lydia placed second in the Senior Master Women's category.  Next up, was the 8km Short Course race for all categories.  Two crews set off, in a field of 17 craft.  Mollymook Golden Master Women's team placed first in their Division and 5th across the line and our Unlimited Mixed team, placed 1st in their division and 9th across the line.  The final event was the 12km long course race with 15 crews contesting the race.  Again two teams lined up and nine paddlers actually backed up from the short course. The conditions were a bit tougher, with bigger swell and strong winds.  More good results were achieved with the Unlimited Mixed crew placing 2nd and 5th across the line and the Unlimited Women's Crew placing 3rd and 11th across the line.   For early in the season, a wonderful day of racing with good results, topped off with a lovely lunch at one of our sponsors hotel, The Bay Hotel at Maroubra Beach.
